Complete Removal, Start to Finish
We handle every phase of orchard and vineyard removal — no subcontracting, no surprises, no excuses.
-
Orchard Removal
Full push-and-pile removal of almond, pistachio, walnut, citrus, stone fruit, and olive orchards of any size. We leave you a clean field ready for fumigation or replanting.
- Tree uprooting & stacking
- Row-by-row clearing
- Large-acreage crews available
-
Vineyard Removal
Complete vine and trellis removal — stakes, wire, drip tubing, posts — all pulled, bundled, and hauled off. We've removed hundreds of acres of wine, table, and raisin grapes across the Valley.
- Vine & root extraction
- Trellis & wire removal
- Drip system takeout
-
Grinding, Chipping & Soil Reincorporation
With open burning of orchard and vineyard removals now banned in the Valley, grinding is the path forward. We grind material on-site and reincorporate the chips back into your soil — building organic matter and meeting the Air District's grant requirements. We'll also walk you through applying for the Air District's grant program that can offset the cost.
- On-site grinding & chipping
- Soil reincorporation
- Air District grant application guidance
-
Stump & Root Raking
Deep stump extraction and root raking to leave ground clear for subsoil work. No buried wood to rot and collapse under future irrigation or equipment.
-
Haul-Off & Disposal
Prefer the material gone instead of reincorporated? We'll haul off and dispose of the ground wood chips and debris cleanly, so you start with a bare, ready field.
-
Site Prep & Leveling
After removal, we can grade and level your acreage, getting it ready for laser-leveling, cover crops, or your next planting season on your timeline.
Not sure what you need? Call us and we'll walk you through it.
Why A. Nonini
We Don't Cut Corners — and Neither Should You
Since 1988, we've built our reputation one clean job at a time. We know what it costs to do removal wrong — buried roots that wreck equipment for years, wire left in the ground that jams your sprinklers, biomass burned without permits. We don't do any of that.
When you hire A. Nonini Ag Services, you get a crew that shows up, does the work thoroughly, and leaves you a field you can actually use — not a cleanup project.
-
Fully licensed & insured CA Contractor's License. Full liability coverage on every job.
-
Our crew, not subcontractors You deal with us, start to finish. No strangers on your property.
-
We respect your schedule We work around fumigation windows, planting deadlines, and harvest schedules.
-
Transparent pricing Written estimates. No change-order surprises after we're on-site.

Our Story
Two Generations, One Standard of Work
A. Nonini Ag Services was founded in Fresno in 1988 by a grower who understood what farmers actually needed — a removal crew that showed up, worked hard, and left the ground in a condition you could actually use the next season.
Today, the second generation runs the operation with the same values: show up on time, do the work right, stand behind it. We're not a national franchise or a corporate operation. We're Central Valley farmers ourselves, and we treat every job like it's our own land.
For nearly 40 years, we've removed orchards and vineyards of every type and size across six counties. We've seen what shortcuts cost growers in the long run — and we've never been in the business of making cheap mistakes.
"We do it right the first time, because there's no second chance with the ground your family farms."
— Anthony Nonini, Owner
Common Questions
Things Growers Ask Us
-
Every job is different — acreage, crop type, material density, disposal method, and site conditions all affect the price. We don't give ballpark numbers over the phone because they're often wrong and we don't want to waste your time. What we do is come out, walk the property, and give you a written estimate at no cost and no obligation. That estimate is what you pay — no surprise change orders.
-
We typically book 2–6 weeks out depending on the season. Winter and early spring are our busiest periods. If you have a hard fumigation or replanting deadline, tell us upfront — we'll do our best to work around it, and we're honest with you if the timeline isn't possible.
-
Your choice. Most growers have us grind the material and reincorporate it into the soil, which builds organic matter and is what the Air District's grant program is designed to fund. If you'd rather have it gone, we can haul off and dispose of the ground chips entirely. Since open burning of removals is no longer allowed in the Valley, grinding and reincorporation has become the standard — and we'll help you figure out what makes the most sense for your replanting plan during the estimate.
-
As of January 1, 2025, open burning of orchard and vineyard removals is no longer allowed in the San Joaquin Valley — the Air District completed a multi-year phase-out, and removals no longer qualify for burn permits. The good news is that the Air District runs a grant program (the Alternatives to Agricultural Open Burning program) that provides funding to help growers chip and reincorporate material instead of burning it. We are not affiliated with the Air District and we don't submit applications on your behalf, but we know the process well and we'll walk you through how to apply so you can take advantage of the available funding. It's a big part of why we do what we do. Read the full burn ban guide →

Yes. We carry a California Contractor's License and full general liability and workers' compensation insurance. We can provide certificates of insurance to your lender or farm manager before we start work. Always ask any contractor you hire for proof — don't take their word for it.
-
We focus on commercial agricultural acreage. For very small residential or hobby-farm situations, we may refer you to a more appropriate contractor. Give us a call and describe your situation — we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.
